How to Build Brand Authority via Social Media

We lightly touched upon this in the past, but we wanted to take a deep dive for this week’s topic. What is Brand Authority and what does it mean for your organization? Essentially, brand authority means what trust do people have for your organization? Are you an expert in the field? Do you actively engage with your community and your industry? Do you consistently create and post content that will be compelling to your audience?

If you are seen as an authority in your field, your consumers will have more confidence and trust in you and be more likely to purchase your goods or services. This creates loyalty! You also open yourself up to the potential of working with influencers and well-known players in your industry.

Do you feel you are known on social media as a trusted authority in your industry? We’re here to help you build that authority. Take note that fostering this trust and building out your account takes time. This is not an overnight project. It will take a lot of time and attention. Building your social media and brand authority is an evolving process - the rent is due every day! We could spend hours alone on this topic, but we’re sticking with 5 Tips you can begin implementing today!

The Proof is in the Pudding!
Showcase those reviews and testimonials - you worked hard for them! This shows your viewers that you know what you are doing and you are excited to help others! Recently receive an award or certificate? Share it!

Discuss Industry-Wide News
You can do this in the form of a weekly segment. Put together a well-thought-out summary of top news in the industry that your viewers will find not only relevant but useful. Be original! Put your own spin on it - and never copy anyone else's work! Your followers will know and we know you have integrity for your brand. Speak to them from your point of view and ensure your information is easily understood (less jargon)!

Actively Engage with your Audience and Community
Responding to your comments alone is simply not enough. Be present in your community, engage on other accounts and threads where you can share your thoughts and knowledge. Here, you may come across other like-minded people in your industry and the opportunity may arise where you can work together. This leads me to our last point…

Network, Network, Network
Join your local Chamber of Commerce or apply for other affiliations that will be appropriate for your industry. These can be displayed through social media as well as your website to build credibility.
